REVIEW OF THE EP ADRENALINE SHOT BY AMKEN

Amken is a thrash metal band formed in 2011 in Greece, releasing independently their first EP Adrenaline Shot on the 30th November 2014.

Amken style is genuine thrash metal, simple and straight to your brains, the harsh low to high pitched vocals are amazing and also the guitar-drums team play is really well composed to take you to the mosh pit right away; you will find that visceral thrash attack seen on Razor or Exodus.

Adrenaline shot bangs with the tittle track, straight headbanging and powerful wild style, the rhythms go mid and fast really effectively, linking with Zombie Pets in another breathtaking thrash missile, this time comprising more technical elements, with excellent vocal parts and special mention to the drum pounding blasts, including one of their best chorus and a highlight of the band's style.

The dark introduction of Nightmare leads to another in crescendo thrash shot, continuing the nonstop headbanging feeling with a good structure and remarkable melodic sharp vocal sections linking to the final track God's asleep, clearly their best act, introducing deeper and epic sensations to the mixture, the theatrical performance of the vocalist is outstanding, the bass sounds bloody well, dirty and evil as hell as the thrash machinery evolves to a fast thrash symphony that will leave you hungry for more.

Amken brought to light their first Ep leaving a really good impression, their thrash is aggressive and effective, without being extremely technical this cut is wild and violent, showing that the weapons are ready to attack.

REVIEW OF GOD, GOLD AND GLORY BY SALVACION

Salvacion is a Traditional Heavy metal band from Wilmington, North Carolina (US) formed in 2009, releasing three albums, Going to Hell (2010), Way more unstoppable (2011) and the last album released in 2014, God Gold and Glory. The band have had lineup changes in every album, being the former memebers of the band the sole responsible for this work, Carlos Sergio Denogean on the drums and Nick Sponsel playing the guitars, bass, organ, e-bow and vocals.

God Gold and Glory stands for the way of thinking of the european explorers of the 15th and 16th Century about the new world; Salvacion forged here a strong heavy metal record with drippings of hard rock and power metal in general, Take Overture break the silence taking you to the ship rounded the wild sea and thunder linked with Fortune, great mid fast power metal  with remarkable composition on the guitars, adding elements from Progressive and high pitched sharp vocals clearly influenced by Judas Priest frontman Halford.

Obsidian knife explode with galloping axes, excellent track, pure classic heavy metal missile with a powerful headbanging action through verses and chorus as it continues with Stroke of Luck, combining strong heavy metal with hard rock melodies mixed incredibly well, high pitched vocals at the end are amazing.

Hard Rock elements with strong drumbeats are the ingredients of Gambler's Throw, similar composition like hard rock bands on the vein of Airbourne, headbanging and extremely catchy chorus, incredible second half on the vocals, leaving you breathless the evil chords of Satan, Shame and Steel unveils an outstanding speed heavy metal track with thrash metal elements, but also managing to introduce hard rock moments in the chorus, awesome drums in this moshpiting act continued by  Savage Reprisal, created with epic elements, sophisticated army-like pulse and theatrical vocals will make you raise your fists while breaking your necks!

Way more unstoppable heralds the fast headbanging hard rock -heavy metal style, encapsulating the band finest hour and becoming the best track of the album.

Overall Salvacion created anther excellent album that progress from the power and heavy metal combining lots of hard rock elements perfectly well, defining a style coming from the early 80s NWOBHM that every metalhead will like, the production need to improve but its still awesome,
God Gold and Glory will make you bang your heads!

REVIEW EP DIE IN THE NIGHT BY RUTHLESS STEEL

Ruthless Steel are a Greek classic heavy metal band formed in 2012 and releasing the first EP in 2013,  Die In The Night, we can call this debut album as one of this gems of epic heavy metal that you can't stop listening; do you like Manilla Road, Judas Priest or Medieval Steel? Just mix it up and you will start having a clue of what Ruthless steel is about.

This EP takes you straight to the battle with the army fighting and the warcry of the song Die In The Night; Very few times I listen such a sharp, raw and high pitched vocals in a woman, and this makes this band so characteristic, it will be a lot inspirational for many bands to come. Great first track, curiously reminds me a lot to  Manilla Road; vocals and composition are extraordinary.

Second track is the self titled Ruthless steel, very original and fierce lyrics,  and awesome instrumental parts. Heart of fire is the next on the list, the ballad of the album, very well composed with mix parts of slow drums (remember the drums of the first Judas Priest albums?) and deep passionate chorus, great job!

Last song of the album is Power of Hate, even though this is not the most viewed track, I can tell you this is the best in this EP, sophisticated technique in the first riff, the vocalist does an awesome job! You feel she makes a great interpretation of the theme of the song; outstanding chorus, long and very effective! to sing along to the end. It gets a break kind of Victim of Fate by Helloween and the ending that you will remember forever!

Overall, this debut EP is the perfect start for a classic epic heavy metal band, It's a high level of inspiration, and also high recommended if you like true metal, in fact, with four songs like this, buying the next album will be something mandatory!
Check them out, they are

REVIEW EP EVIL INVADERS - EVIL INVADERS

Evil Invaders are a Speed Thrash metal band from Belgium formed in 2007,
they just released their first album in February 2013.
Their style is all about being aggressive in a thrash metal way combined
with extreme speed and high range vocals from the old school speed metal bands.

This EP starts with Victim of Sacrifice, a powerful song that gets you involved
from the beginning to the end. Very strong lyrics suitable for a hymn to sing along
for many years to come.

Driving Fast starting with a really virtuous guitar riffs, it takes you to a fast speed metal rhythm,
great job with the vocals with a really high range and sharp raw voice;
the song slows down a bit on the first part of the solo and then attacks with the main riff,
fast and aggressive! In my opinion, one of the best of the album.

Tortured by the beast, what I really like in this song is the combination of melodic heavy metal verses
with early 90s thrash metal style chorus that make you scream loud "tortured".
Just another masterpiece in this album!

Speed Invasion, as an instrumental track, one of the strongest points here
is how they manage to change the rhythm without losing energy,
speed thrash metal style drums attacking like a bomb!

Alcoholic Maniac, it follows a fast start with some Exumer like riffs,
leading to a headbanging solo with a mid-tempo and high speed mix parts,
this track has a really great instrumental.

Last track is the self titled song Evil Invaders, and this time it starts with an in-crescendo instrumentals,
great job with the bass here! An explosive combination of vocals and guitars,
leading with a great chorus and an amazing ending.
Very solid track with reminiscences of Iron Maiden, where you realise how well influenced they are!

Evil Invaders just made a masterpiece speed-thrash metal album,
even though this is their first album we expect the best from them in the next years,
they are here to stay and to take the lead of the speed thrash metal scene!!
