REVIEW OF THE ALBUM VOICES OF ETERNITY BY BLOOD&IRON

Blood & Iron is a power heavy metal band from India formed in 2005 and released two full lengths, Blood and Iron in 2007 and Dynamite world in 2009, receiving positive feedback by the media, taking a long break and line up changes until they came back to the studio in 2013, releasing their third album Voices of eternity via Pure Steel Records on the 26th of September 2014.
Blood & Iron present a pure heavy metal sound in its essence with a  power metal perfectly melted, the mid high pitched Halford styled vocals works very well into the Iced earth - Grave digger instrumental compositions together with progressive touches. The final line up is based on Ashish and Vikram on the guitars and Praveen on the drums, with the special guests on lead vocals Giles Lavery (from the australian Dragonsclaw) and Youmni (from the band Ascendant from Dubai) taking the back vocals. Vin Nair, lead singer of Dubai-based rock band ‘Vin Sinners’ takes on the part of ‘the Narrator’ on ‘Ghost of a Memory’. Riju “Dr. Hex”, bassist of Mumbai-based metal band “Albatross” handles the bass on ‘Eternal Rites’.
The whole album is forged with very effective choruses, Eternal rites and Legion calls to the traditional power metal with Queensryche influences in a sophisticated headbanging structure and changes of rhythm with awesome chorus and a really epic feeling as the mid fast galloping pulse of Ascendant mixes impulsive powerful chorus also presented in the mid to fast paced Burning bridges, offering higher vocal ranges, being one of the best acts of the record.

Encapsulating the bands sound we find the track Your own voice, with the right touch of progressive, and a headbanging heavy power metal soul also present on tracks like Underground Rebellion, one of the best tracks of the band combining the awesome catchy chorus and forceful verses with thrash influence.

Ghost of a memory starts as an acoustic ballad that very effectively evolves to an intense mid fast tempo bomb, the vocals offer one of the best interpretations of the album with great highs and lows tunes along with an outstanding guitars performance continued by Path not taken, which heralds a mid tempo ballad with a good harmony forging acoustic and electric parts leaded by a remarkable job on the vocals as finally Redemption day kicks in creating a memorable chorus and great compositions with sophisticated drum touches for a perfect ending.

The album offers a great quality in general terms, with powerful and strong attitude, the production is good but could be better, however, what you're gonna be sure , Blood and iron forged a non-stop headbanging record to be included on every metal maniac essentials for this year.

REVIEW OF THE ALBUM UNDER THE PENTAGRAM BY SKYCONQUEROR

Skyconqueror is a classic heavy metal band from Germany, formed in 1997 comprised by Carsten Stiens on the drums, Mirko Jankord on the bass, axemaster Jan Tappert and vocals by Daniel Hiller.
The band released three demos in their early years until the release of their first full length in 2008, Hellstory, taking the band to give plenty gigs in the following years and then releasing their second album Under the Pentagram at the beginning of July 2014.

The band forged a combination of hard rock and heavy metal sound as seen on the NWOBHM bands of the late 70s and early 80s, the influences are high from bands like Accept, Saxon or Dio which is something awesome!

The album break the silence with Monolith offering an excellent riff taken straight from the early NWOBHM when hard rocker tunes blue rock influenced melted with aggressive heavy metal blasts, great feeling with the vocals, mid range style in a melodic technique and then attacking fast with Demon, really epic song with forceful heavy structure and those kind of chorus made to raise your fists, remarkable guitar job on the second half bringing back that approach from the first line up of the germans Accept.

The Sanctuary of 83 develop a strong pulse mid tempo drumbeats, excellent composition as the guitars and the vocals dancing around this thunderous rhythm, linking to the galloping riffs on the vein of Iron Maiden, Horseman of the Grail, headbanging piece with one of the best chorus of the album; as the acoustic guitars of The Dusk take you to an intense ballad, offering a fantastic vocal perception that leads to the tittle track Under the Pentagram as another classic heavy metal headbanging act with strong drumbeats, also following the same strategy it continues with Fallen Rainbow Warrior developing NWOBHM genuine riffs with influences from Saxon.

Without a break the mid tempo pulse of Bells of Fate bring you up wrecking your necks adding a good catchy chorus, made to be shouted at the gigs. Outstanding tune guys!

Through different eyes is an in crescendo instrumental track that links with Running high in a fantastic hard rocker riff start  that is combined with early heavy metal at perfection, and following to the next and last song of the album, Blade of Black, following the combination of styles characteristic of the band, being the sign of their music and also adding some power metal elements.

Skyconqueror forged an exceptional album combining the hard rock roots with the sharp dangerous heavy metal sound of the early 80s, every single track is good and the guys made a good job together as a band. With Under the Pentagram I'm sure they will get to the next level, keeping the heavy metal roots intact demonstrating that the Traditional Heavy Metal is back and stronger than ever.

REVIEW OF GOD, GOLD AND GLORY BY SALVACION

Salvacion is a Traditional Heavy metal band from Wilmington, North Carolina (US) formed in 2009, releasing three albums, Going to Hell (2010), Way more unstoppable (2011) and the last album released in 2014, God Gold and Glory. The band have had lineup changes in every album, being the former memebers of the band the sole responsible for this work, Carlos Sergio Denogean on the drums and Nick Sponsel playing the guitars, bass, organ, e-bow and vocals.

God Gold and Glory stands for the way of thinking of the european explorers of the 15th and 16th Century about the new world; Salvacion forged here a strong heavy metal record with drippings of hard rock and power metal in general, Take Overture break the silence taking you to the ship rounded the wild sea and thunder linked with Fortune, great mid fast power metal  with remarkable composition on the guitars, adding elements from Progressive and high pitched sharp vocals clearly influenced by Judas Priest frontman Halford.

Obsidian knife explode with galloping axes, excellent track, pure classic heavy metal missile with a powerful headbanging action through verses and chorus as it continues with Stroke of Luck, combining strong heavy metal with hard rock melodies mixed incredibly well, high pitched vocals at the end are amazing.

Hard Rock elements with strong drumbeats are the ingredients of Gambler's Throw, similar composition like hard rock bands on the vein of Airbourne, headbanging and extremely catchy chorus, incredible second half on the vocals, leaving you breathless the evil chords of Satan, Shame and Steel unveils an outstanding speed heavy metal track with thrash metal elements, but also managing to introduce hard rock moments in the chorus, awesome drums in this moshpiting act continued by  Savage Reprisal, created with epic elements, sophisticated army-like pulse and theatrical vocals will make you raise your fists while breaking your necks!

Way more unstoppable heralds the fast headbanging hard rock -heavy metal style, encapsulating the band finest hour and becoming the best track of the album.

Overall Salvacion created anther excellent album that progress from the power and heavy metal combining lots of hard rock elements perfectly well, defining a style coming from the early 80s NWOBHM that every metalhead will like, the production need to improve but its still awesome,
God Gold and Glory will make you bang your heads!

REVIEW ALBUM TIMELESS WARFARE BY VENGEFUL GHOUL

Vengeful ghoul are a heavy-thrash metal from Istanbul, Turkey formed in 2005, releasing their first demo in 2006, and after having ready their own studio released their first single in 2012 called Ruthless Crow and the full length Timeless Warfare in 2014.

Timeless warfare starts with the war as background when the mid-tempo guitars of Chained freedom transform the scene into an apocalyptic feeling riffs well followed by a great theatrical melodies and high pitched Halford style vocals with remarkable change of rhythms. Sovereign Place take some power metal influence with excellent chorus, good job on the drums as they make an epic ending.

Now it's turn of Ruthless Crow, one of the best of this album with headbanging feeling from start to finish; Judas Priest 90's era style, powerful chorus, really good range of low to high pitched voice as well as raw growling to clean sharp high notes, masterpiece in-crescendo solo and memorable chorus to scream as your neck is breaking!

Next track is My crowded solitude, acoustic true metal ballad beginning that turns to a potent strong tough mid-tempo act, striking interpretation of the track, good job when the orchestra take you to the next piece Under Control, with hard-heavy riff with similarities of Blood, demons and whiskey by Al Atkins, keeping the same strategy to offer a satisfying headbanging track that continues with Schaukelstuhl, the ballad of the album, or maybe we can call it a hymn of pure heavy metal, to stand tall and sing along!

Search of Aperion develop an epic mid-tempo start evolving to a classic thrash metal rhythm, headbanging  track with one of the best riffs (death metal detail detected...great!) keeping the roots untouched! continued by Fire and Spell, slow-mid tempo track with strong guitars and dramatic mid-to-high pitched vocals.
Finally the last track is the tittle song of the album, Timeless warfare, pure old school speed thrash metal mosh pit and headbanging missile, combined at perfection with the Halfordish vocals, being the sign of the band, for sure, their best track! Exceptional job on the guitars and marvellous composition.

Vengeful Ghoul first album Timeless Warfare is an awesome bid by this quintet from Turkey, excellent vocals from the beginning to the end! This is the perfect demonstration of dramatic epic thrash metal, very solid work being the first album! Definitely one of the surprises of the year, a must-have album for every true heavy-thrash metal maniac!
