REVIEW OF THE ALBUM NIGHT OF THE WARRIORS BY THUNDERHEART

Thunderheart finally released their debut album last February by the hand of Killer Metal Records, the Spanish band delivers a good classic heavy-power metal with influences from US metal bands like Jag Panzer, drippings of speed metal like the Germans Warrant and catchy strong and straight choruses bringing memories from Grave digger; but definitely these guys develop the genuine sound of Steelhorse, previous band from the guitarist Willy Gascon, that encapsulates the essence of Judas priest, Iron maiden and Accept among other Titans of heavy metal, the vocal style by Javier Pastor Is powerful and melodic, using mid to high pitched tunes and generally on the clean side.

New horizons introduces the album as an instrumental melodic headbanging shot linked with Show them our fire, developing awesome guitar riffs in a fast paced hit, guitars are remarkably good on the melodies behind the vocal parts, continued by the tittle track Night of the warriors, mid tempo act with a really epic bridge and catchy chorus, awesome palm muted guitar parts in one of the best highlights of the Album.

The mid paced addictive riff of Thunderheart will make you bang your head from the first second, vocals here are brilliant, from the high pitched verses to the straight chorus, made to scream in the gigs, one of the best compositions of the band, as it continues with Concrete Jungle, another mid tempo shot where the band strikes back with epic bridges and a chorus that draws awesome melodies, one of the best acts, of those to be played continuously.

Killing my fears evolves with a fast paced rhythm, simple but effective riffs combined with a well crafted chorus, effective and strong strategy followed by the mid tempo Rules of a lie, with epic riffs and a crescendo structure, the instrumentals stay more static melodically as the leadership are remarked on the vocal part.

Bulletproof continues the 80s heavy metal sound revival in another mid tempo anthem, well performed on the vocals and also good harmony between the instrumentals, perfect song for a gig; as I'll always be there for you accelerates the machinery in an outstanding riff work and melodic vocals, another top hit of the band where everybody will bang the heads, good drum parts with remarkable changes of rhythms.

Now its the turn of one of the key tracks of the band, rise or fall, the last shot of this album Night of the warriors, they actually perform all the styles developed throughout the album, pure classic heavy metal riffs with addictive choruses and excellent bridges that make the listener rise the fist in the air, shouting rise or fall, impressive!.

Night of the warriors is the first taste of Thunderheart, and to tell you the truth, this debut album sounds really professional, the compositions are well crafted in every single note and they know how to catch the attention of the listener, tracks like rise or fall, concrete jungle or thunderheart are good demonstrations of their sound, and excellent lessons of true metal;

Thunderheart have jumped to the top of the Spanish heavy metal scene with the first album, good job!

INTERVIEW WITH JET JAGUAR

Hello, its always a pleasure to interview you, thank you guys for making it possible.

First of all, tell me some of the band's history, Why did you choose Jet Jaguar as the band's name?
We were struggling a little at that time to decide the name of the band, we had some options such as "Exiler" and also "Roller Blade" but then, Diego came up with the Jet Jaguar idea from a video game he used to play when he was a kid haha.

Jet Jaguar life is really in the first steps, but the sound quality is great, how long did it take to create your first EP?
Well, actually it's a demo. It took us from January, to the moment we started recording it (March).

How do you value the relation between the band members?
I think it's pretty good. We often try to do some stuff outside the band, you know, like playing soccer, some video games or just hanging out.

Sometimes band members like different styles, one can like classic heavy metal and another could like thrash metal mainly, Are your influences similar?
The influences of every member are very different. Sometimes this is a problem when composing, but it is also an advantage, because everyone comes up with different ideas, and this helps to give variety to our music.

Which band is the most influential for the band?
Because of the fact that our influences are different, every member has their favourite band which influences our music. But if we had to mention a few bands, we would say Skull Fist, Cacophony, Riot and Racer X.

Most of the NWOTHM bands evolve from the EP or demo to the first or second album in a way that they can slightly stand with more power metal style or even thrash metal structure, Jet Jaguar is genuine heavy speed metal with drippings of power,  how satisfied are you with the band sound?
We are really satisfied with the band's sound, but of course we are aiming to improve our sound with time and effort. Also, we are adding some power and hard rock stuff to the new songs.

Would you change anything in the near future?
We already have set in our minds the direction of where we want to take the band in the future.

How is the metal scene in your country?
Excellent, the support is great and the union of the metal fans is strong, but there is a lack of recording labels and promotion. It's a little hard to get recognised internationally.

Do you find it easy to promote your music on the concerts ?

Not exactly in concerts, but a lot people has already bought a copy of our demo by contacting us.

How is the international heavy metal scene responding after the release of your first demo?
Is doing great! We have even received more messages from people from outside our country than from Mexico. This is really important, so maybe, eventually, we'll be able to play in other countries around the world.

Have you had any record label or Promotion company offers ?
Yes, we are looking forward to work with a label called Metal Ways Records, they will release our first LP, and we have already received some offers for promotion.

NWOTHM bands record videoclips at very early times (even in the first EP) like Leather Heart or Night, is Jet Jaguar preparing a videoclip?
Not yet, we want to wait for the first album.

How is the tour going?
We haven't tour yet, since we are writing new material.

What are the plans for an international tour?
That would be amazing; we hope to tour, first, in our country to achieve national recognition, and then, we may a have chance, with the release of the LP, to tour in other countries.

Any chance to come to Europe?
Well, if you want to take us there... haha it would be fucking awesome to play in Europe at some point in the future.

The heavy speed metal scene in Europe is also growing, do you know bands like Ruthless steel, Air raid or Leather Heart? Would you like to share stage with this kind of bands in the future?
That's exactly the kind of bands we'd like to share stage with. Bands like Steelwing, Monument, etc...

To finish, Could you send a message to your fans?
For the people who has heard our music around the world via Internet, we really hope to see you soon and play live for you, thanks for the support!

Thank you so much for your time and keep it true guys!

REVIEW CALL OF THE FIGHT DEMO BY JET JAGUAR

Jet Jaguar are a traditional heavy speed metal from Mexico formed in 2014 and just released their first demo. Jet jaguar first work consist in four genuine traditional heavy speed metal shots influenced on the roots by Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Tokyo Blade firstly and an added progressive and power metal drippings that will delight the ears of Skull Fist and Enforcer fans (the style have also similarities with Strikelight).

The demo starts with Hunter, with the drumbeats playing unveiling a speed metal riff that encapsulates the band style, awesome bass sound all over, this fast pulse will definitely make you bang your heads from the beginning and the chorus is the best, if skull fist had heavier than metal, jet jaguar have Hunter.

Call of the fight heralds another speed metal rhythm with strong pounding drum pulse, epic chorus on the mid pitched vocals, making a good contrast with the high pitched parts. Remarkable job by the guitars, technically perfect.

Rock shots belongs to the classic 80s heavy metal, what an anthem! Give me memories of hot shots by Maniac in an accelerating rhythm of speed metal and wild attitude chorus, forceful headbanging ending.
To complete the work we have their new single called Battle of the gods, high pitched vocals well executed in a mid fast tempo heavy speed metal, with an excellent power metal forged chorus; remarkable the production in this track,  resulting in a fresher and cleaner sound.

The style is still defined by their influences mainly and the band own sound is in an early step; the voice is excellent but could be better at some points, where more vocal strength is needed, but the result is outstanding, the composition is exceptional, riveting from start to finish, remarkable axe mastering, from the virtuous guitar solos  to the well executed chords and palm mutes, the harmony is great within all members of the band. Definitely a true metal gem from a promising band, Jet Jaguar attacks!

REVIEW THE ALBUM "BEYOND BETRAYAL" BY ARISING FEAR

Arising fear are a thrash metal band from Augsburg, formed in 2008 with a first EP released in 2009.
Their music is well connected between the thrash metal and the metalcore with melodic and groove points as we can see in this first album, released in march 2014.

Beyond Betrayal starts with Mantic shape,a machine gun thrash metal weapon in action, combined with melodic clean vocals in the chorus, good instrumentals and great headbanging roll as they get you into Beyond the walls of anger, mid tempo metalcore influenced touch mixed with heavy growling vocals technical drums; as they stop to link it with Deadly embrace, modern melodic, very slow to mid tempo track, being one of the weakest tracks in this album, to continue with Day to overcome which includes what the song before needed, as a mid tempo song, continuity on the drums rhythm and groove metalcore sections that fans of this style will really appreciate. Next piece is Losing sanity, they start with Megadeth like intro riff, great brutal growling parts without losing fuel for Final Redemption, clean sophisticated drum action with changes in the rhythm following the thrash metal ways. This Burden is next and kills you like a bullet in the head from the beginning, heavy thrash metal, great guitars and their essential melodic vocals; remarkable vocal interpretation and excellent ending followed by Come alive again, unmissable ballad of the album, with modern metal techniques, emotional and expressive from start to finish.

Now it's turn of Thrashing brain surgery, epic start and awesome strong furious verses, neck breaking shot in this awesome track where even the melodic parts are amazingly well combined; raw and titanic thrash blast.

This album finish with Meltdown rust, could be the exact style combination of this band, reuniting elements of heavy, thrash, metalcore and groove formula, the ending of the song is very powerful as they finish in a shade to the silence.

Arising fear took the risk of doing a full length combining different factions of metal, from the heavy influence to the metalcore, and I can admit, not being fan of this kind of genre, that Arising fear created an excellent album, with a superb crystal clear production.
Need to be more headbanging, sometimes there is a lack of thrash rhythm, but I'm sure they will improve that for the next album.

Fans of this modern thrash metal will love it, absolutely !
